Ground Mount Systems

Ground mounted systems offer advantages for larger system sizes and optimal solar orientations where large, un-shaded plots of land are available. Our ground systems are constructed using corrosion-free galvanized steel and aluminum structures built to last 40 years or more.

Ground Mount Systems

Xeriscaping at its best... Turn about 600 square feet of open yard into a 6.5 kW renewable energy power plant — only this plant  conserves over 8,800 gallons of water per year! *
Tracking systems are also ground mounted and come in dual axis (seen right) and single axis pole mounts. Precisely tracking the sun generates 30% to 50% more energy than fixed mounted systems.

* Used as coolant, fossil fuel and nuclear-fired power plants discharge 1 gallon of water per kWh of electricity generated ~ U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) statistics.

Ground mounts are a great solution for homeowners whose roof is excessively shaded, faces the wrong direction, or is too small for optimal solar generation.  As in the case of tilt rack systems, additional engineering, materials, and labor are required to install these systems, including soils, seismic, and structural analysis to pass building department requirements.

REgrid Power works closely with city, county, and state building officials throughout California to assure that our systems fully conform to local building codes and new guidelines for optimal safety and long system life.

Inverters are securely mounted to the back of this steel ground structure to keep them shaded, cool, and operating at peak efficiency. Ground mount structures are built on engineered concrete footings for proper array orientation and long-lasting stability.

Conduit to carry the solar power to the home's load center is safely buried underground.

As with all the work we do, our crews work carefully before, during, and after construction to preserve the visual and structural integrity of our customers' homes.
