Tom McCalmont, President, CEO, & Co-Founder

Mr. McCalmont has 25 years of experience developing new businesses that deliver innovative technology solutions. A charter NABCEP-certified Solar Engineer, he has led REgrid Power’s meteoric growth from inception in 2002 to its position today as one of California’s largest solar companies. A prolific inventor with 13 U.S. patents, he has a successful track record of creatively applying new technology to solving real world customer problems.

Prior to starting REgrid Power, Mr. McCalmont founded and served as the first CEO of Nuasis Corporation, a company developing next generation customer service solutions, and before that, he served as Vice President & General Manager of the computer-telephony products division of Aspect Communications (now Davox Corporation).

Mr. McCalmont holds an MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a BS degree in Physics from Muskingum College. He has also completed the AEA/Stanford executive MBA program. He is a founding member and Executive Chair of SolarTech, Solar Center of Excellence, an entity dedicated to eliminating the existing barriers to the proliferation of solar power.

Darlene McCalmont, Vice President & Co-Founder

Ms. McCalmont has 25 years of experience managing operations for businesses with complex production processes. The first woman in California to become a NABCEP-certified Solar Engineer, she has led REgrid Power’s development as the quality leader of California’s solar industry.

Prior to starting REgrid Power, Ms. McCalmont served as Operations Manager for Clean Harbors Corporation, a company that disposes of hazardous material through environmentally-sound methods, and before that, she served as Operations Manager for Celanese Corporation, managing large commercial chemical production lines.

Ms. McCalmont holds an MBA degree from the University of Houston and a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Ohio State University.

Doug Payne, Director, Commercial Business Development

Mr. Payne leads REgrid Power’s Commercial Business Development Division, based in Campbell and serving Northern and Central California. Mr. Payne has over 10 years experience in strategic planning, program development and product roadmaps.

Prior to joining REgrid Power, Mr Payne worked in program management, product development and business development at KLA-Tencor.

Mr. Payne holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University, Ontario.

Rich Moore, Sr. Director of Residential Sales

Mr. Moore leads REgrid Power’s Bay Area Residential Sales group and has over 20 years experience in technology sales and sales management.

Prior to joining REgrid Power, Mr. Moore founded and served as Vice President of Sales of TechSport. Before that he served in various sales management roles for Multilink Technology Corporation, NEC Electronics, ITT Cannon, and Texas Instruments.

Mr. Moore holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.

Iain Crabb, Sr. Director, Finance

Mr. Crabb leads REgrid Power’s finance and business planning departments. Prior to joining REgrid Power, Mr. Crabb served for 8 years at Cisco Systems, Inc. in numerous financial management and planning positions, supporting the manufacturing and engineering divisions. His responsibilities there included corporate gross margin management, business decision and ROI analysis, budgeting and forecasting for multiple high volume business units.

Mr. Crabb holds a BA degree in Business Management / Economics with a concentration in accounting from the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Scott McCalmont, Director, Engineering

Dr. McCalmont has over 16 years of design, research and development experience in industry and academia. He holds 6 U.S. patents.

Prior to joining REgrid Power, Dr. McCalmont worked as a Senior Design Engineer for Micrel Semiconductor, designing analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits. While with Micrel he also held the position of Adjunct Professor at Iowa State University.

Dr. McCalmont holds BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from Iowa State University and a PhD degree in electrical engineering from Duke University.

Erin Clark, Managing Director, Central California Division

Mr. Clark leads REgrid Power’s Central California Division, based in sunny Fresno and serving the entire Central Valley region. Mr. Clark has over 10 years’ experience managing in the contracting industry.

Prior to creating the Central California division of REgrid Power, Mr. Clark served as Vice President of a major landscaping and nursery company based in Fresno and servicing high end residential and commercial customers. During his tenure, Mr. Clark helped grow a small family business into a multimillion dollar corporation.
